Our Sailing Experience

Millie

I started dinghy sailing aged 9, racing Toppers and Lasers (coming last). Then I moved into local yacht racing as a bow(wo)man. I qualified as a dinghy instructor and spent a couple of summers teaching before university. Since then I’ve done a bit of sailing here and there, including as crew for Great Britain’s Bantry Bay Gig racing team in 2010 & 2012. Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about boat maintenance!

Quals: RYA Day Skipper, Yachtmaster Theory, RYA First Aid, RYA Marine Radio (VHF).

Steve

I did my level 2 RYA dinghy sailing course as a kid a long time ago, but was never that keen on sailing. After being badgered by Millie to give it another go I did a Competent Crew course in 2021 and was hooked. Since then we’ve done some cruising with friends in the Med and I’ve signed up to do his Day Skipper in 2023. Fortunately, I know how to do useful things like plumbing and electronics!

Ships Dawg

Logan has little to no sailing experience, apart from a few trips on the cross-channel ferries. Tries to drink the ocean. Absolute handbrake to doing boat jobs, just gets in the way.

Quals: Certified Good Boy, Cutest Crew Award 2023.
